Yesinsurance.co.uk report that 80% of drivers break law on motorway speeding

Research published by yesinsurance.co.uk indicates that 80% of British drivers break the law on the motorways fast when driving your car, with men being more likely to do so than women. The poll, which was conducted between 4000 UK motorists, on behalf of the supplier yesinsurance.co.uk online motor insurance, shows that nine out of ten men (90%) admit that exceed the 70 mph speed limit, with about two thirds ( 63%) said they have driven more than 100 miles per hour. Female drivers are safer when compared with men, but still show a level of security and disregard the law. Slightly more than three-quarters (77%) of women admit to breaking the speed limit, while one third (36%) say they have driven more than 100 miles per hour. " The research indicates that female drivers are generally safer than men when driving on motorways, ", said Paul Purdy of yesinsurance.co.uk. " This is related to scientific research on the behavior, which points to the fact that women generally are less likely to perform maneuvers or risky driving at high speed " said. Ironically, while men are far more likely to speed than women, the survey indicates that one third of men (31%) think they are better than women drivers. However, statistics on road accidents show the opposite. There are 30% more men than women drivers, but they are involved in nearly twice as many women as traffic accidents. Statistics on traffic accidents, which should be published next month by the National Institute of Statistics show that in 2006 nearly 162000 male car drivers were involved in road traffic accidents in which someone was injured, compared with little more than 90000 female drivers . " The lower risk profile of women is also reflected in insurance claims of ", said Paul Purdy. " That means they can usually get cheaper car insurance than men. " Editors note: - The survey was conducted in January on behalf of the company onepoll.com yesinsurance.co.uk the research as part of a wider project on driving safety and environmental issues. -- A car insurance provided by online yesinsurance.co.uk is designed to provide the best deals for drivers with cars or vans that are more than 5 years of age, representing around 60% of all vehicles currently in circulation. -- Yesinsurance.co.uk is a trade name of the yesinsurance Services Limited, which is authorized and regulated by the Financial Services Authority. rossie noah
